The election was held yesterday to all registered voters, and to the suprise of many the NDP party lost the majority to the Liberals Christy Clark. This left tons of people curious to how the pollsters could have gotten it so wrong, before the election the NDP had a percentage of 45 whilst the Liberals were in second with 36 percent. But, The lack of voters turned that tables as the Liberals ended up with the most seats, which is a major upset to most. Many of the registered voters who did not vote were rather young, asked prior to the election 2 to 1 of young voters said they were going to vote for NDP; which could have changed the outcome if they all voted themselves. I believe that the reasoning behind this is that younger people are not interested in politics unless it is a part of their future, I personally didn't take part in this election for two reaons, the fact that the Blackhawks game was on and I find politics rather corrupt and don't believe voting changes anything, who ever is going to win is going to win regardless. But, if I were too vote I would without a doubt vote for the NDP and their effort towards the improvement of the middle class working man. Another reason I would vote NDP is because I completely dislike the other parties.

April 15th 2013 during the Boston Marathon, there were two pressure cooker bombs that went off near the finish line on Boylston Street. The F.B.I. then started to execute an investigation, they soon released photographs of the two suspects on April 18th that were later idenitfied on the same day; the men who did this act of terror were brothers Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan Tsarnaev. The day that they were identified the men allegedly killed a M.I.T. police officer and carjacked his SUV and initiated a gunfight with the police of Watertown Massachusetts. During the exchange one MBTA police officer was severly injured, Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed and his brother was injured but managed to escape the scene. On April 19th a manhunt was deployed with thousands of armed men searching the Watertown areas, which ended when a Watertown resident helped find the suspect who was hiding in a boat in his back yard, Dzhokhar was arrested and taken to the hospital. He was interrogated and explained that his brother Tamerlan was the mastermind of the bombings, that they were motivated by extremist Islamist beliefs and were planning to make another bombing attempt at Times Square in New York. I think that this event is going to higher the awareness towards acts of terror extremely, and the fact that the United States initiated a heavly armed search for the esacped terrorist shows me that the United States is already trying to make the country more secure and safe against more acts of terror.

On Tuesday March 2nd 2013 Korea threatened to put all of their nuclear facilities to use, that includes its operational uranium-enrichment program and its reactors mothballed or under construction. Expanding their nuclear arsenal which raises the stakes for their standoff with the United States. This was the first time that North Korea said that they would use the facility to make nuclear weapons.Even though when a US scholar visited and they insisted it was to make reactor fuel to generate electricity, but the scholar still thought it was used to make bombs. This would mean that North Korea would have 2 fuel sources to their nuclear weapons. Although in the speech he said they were using the nuclear power to rebuild the economy."Now that we have become a proud nuclear state, we have gained a favourable ground from which we can concentrate all our finance and efforts in building the economy and improving the people's lives based on the strong deterrent against war," Kim said. "We must now focus all our resources on building an economically strong nation."

Nuclear threats from Korea are pretty commom, but in Febuary Korea had their third nuclear testing and the florids declarations from Pyonyang has caught the attention of the United States, Korea said that they would not give up their nuclear arms as long as america remains hostile. But they are years away from being able to put a nuclear warhead on a missle and have it be accurate.

The sale of herbal incense that may similate the use of marijuana remains in a regulatory void in Canada, even though there has been a crackdown on similar substances south of the border. Packages of herbal incense contain explicit health warnings informing you it is not for human consumption. Undercover CBC reports found stores where the staff were condoning smoking the substance. Similar products in the United States have had to face legislative action, with the majority of states taking action to ban them. Last July, the States Drug Enforcement Administration carried out Operation Log Jam; law enforcement officers in 109 different cities taking part and more than 90 arrests. A total of 4.8 million packages of synthetic cannabinoids, and the chemicals to make 13.6 million more, were taken, So was $36 million US in cash. I think that these substances should be more illegal than actual narcotics, with all of the different side effects from the different chemicals trying to simulate a drug. For example, a short while ago a younger teenage girl almost passed away from the use of synthetic marijuanna

There are approximately $150 million dollars of U.S. money worth of NHL players in the injured reserve; there is legitmate concern that this number will begin to raise due to the lockout at the beginning of this season. It is a very high speed, high contact sport, and it's inevitable that there are going to be injuries. But looking at injuries like Erik Karlsson's achillies heel tear and Ryan Miller's mask-related concussion in the 10/11 season, the NHL should look into doing more about it. The debate about player's equipment is nothing new, player's are still arguing that they should be able to use their own gear. Althouth it's hard to support that argument after seeing all of the safety measures added to the new collective bargaining agreement. There have been complaints for years about the Reebok socks, because they are too thin and too dangerous. But nothing's been done. Eric Engels, a Montreal-based reporter, there is a presentation he does for a cut-resistant sock called "Gladiator." It is made of a fibre called Dyneema. Which they are trying to make player's wear.
